Handcrafted Side Mirrors, 18 Individual Parts

Small Parts. Big Impact.

At first glance, a side mirror might seem like a simple component.

At Erbacher, it becomes something entirely different.

Each mirror is built from 18 individual parts and crafted from a solid block of aluminium. No shortcuts, no pre made components. Every piece is created with intention.

Machined by Hand

The housings are hand turned on a vintage Schaublin lathe.

Not because it is the easiest way, but because it allows full control over form, proportion, and finish.

This process takes time.

But it creates something that cannot be replicated industrially.

Each mirror carries subtle differences.

A result of real craftsmanship, not mass production.

Repositioned for Purpose

The mirrors are not simply mounted where they originally were.

They are carefully repositioned on the vehicle to improve both:

  • visual balance
  • driver perspective

This creates a cleaner side profile while enhancing usability behind the wheel.

Built Around Detail

The mirror is completed with integrated safety glass, precisely fitted into the housing. Every edge, every transition, every tolerance is considered.

What appears minimal is in reality highly complex.

A Small Detail That Defines the Whole

This is not about a mirror.

It is about the philosophy behind it:

Taking something ordinary

and executing it at the highest level possible.

Because in the end, it is these details that define the entire car.
