AIR COOLED ENGINEERING

AT THE HIGHEST SWISS STANDART

EGMO X ERBACHER

Developed with EGMO

The engines powering every Erbacher build are developed, engineered, and built by EGMO, one of the leading specialists in air cooled performance engines. Decades of experience and deep technical knowledge define every power unit.

A defining aspect of this partnership is the level of in house manufacturing. Key components such as cylinder heads, cylinders, and other core elements are developed and produced in Switzerland. This level of vertical integration is exceptionally rare in modern engine building and ensures maximum control over quality, performance, and consistency.

Erbacher contributes to the overall concept and integration, ensuring that each engine is perfectly aligned with the character and purpose of the build. The result is a seamless combination of proven engineering expertise and a clearly defined philosophy.

Every engine is assembled, run in, and calibrated on a dedicated engine dyno before installation. The outcome is a drivetrain that delivers precision, reliability, and a distinct mechanical character.

Available Concepts

4.3L

High-performance naturally aspirated engine developed for maximum character and mechanical intensity. The 4.3 litre configuration represents the peak of EGMO’s air cooled engineering, combining strong torque, immediate response, and a raw, engaging driving ex

Each engine is built with Swiss-made components, including EGMO cylinder heads, pistons, and crankshaft, ensuring exceptional quality, precision, and durability.

4.0L
TWIN TURBO

High-performance twin turbocharged engine based on the Porsche 993 platform, developed for maximum power and extreme acceleration. The 4.0 litre configuration delivers a completely different driving character, combining immense torque with relentless thrust across the entire rev range.

With an output of  550 – 600 hp and torque figures reaching 700 Nm, this setup transforms the driving experience into something far more aggressive and demanding. Power delivery is immediate and forceful, offering a level of performance that goes far beyond traditional air cooled expectations.

Built on the more advanced 993 engine architecture and engineered with modern EGMO technology, this configuration allows for significantly higher performance while maintaining stability and control.

3.9L

Naturally aspirated performance engine featuring EGMO-developed cylinder heads and individual throttle bodies. The 3.9 litre configuration delivers a highly responsive and characterful driving experience, with a strong focus on precision and mechanical feedback.

Built with Swiss-made core components and paired with a custom ECU, this setup offers sharp throttle response, a distinctive intake sound, and a direct connection between driver and engine.

Designed for those who value individuality and a more expressive naturally aspirated character.

3.6L

Rebuilt air cooled engine based on the 964 platform, offering a balanced combination of performance, drivability, and reliability. The 3.6 litre configuration is often expanded to 3.8 litres, increasing displacement, torque, and overall responsiveness.

This engine represents a refined evolution of the classic air cooled concept, delivering smooth power delivery and a versatile driving character suited for both road and spirited driving.

A proven foundation for an Erbacher build with a focus on usability and authentic driving feel.

3.2L

Rebuilt original engine preserving the classic air cooled character in its purest form. The 3.2 litre configuration delivers a linear power curve, mechanical simplicity, and an authentic driving experience true to the origins of the platform.

For increased performance, the engine can be upgraded to 3.4 litres, enhancing both power and torque while maintaining its original design philosophy.

Ideal for builds that prioritise heritage, purity, and a more traditional driving feel.

SWISS-MADE ENGINEERING, DRIVEN BY EGMO

very engine within the Erbacher programme is developed and built in close partnership with EGMO, one of Switzerland’s most experienced and respected engine builders.

With roots in professional motorsport dating back to the 1970s, EGMO brings decades of racing experience at the highest level. This includes numerous successes in European and international competition and forms the foundation of their engineering philosophy today.

This depth of knowledge flows directly into every Erbacher build. Each engine is not simply assembled but engineered with a clear focus on durability, response, and mechanical precision.

A defining aspect of this collaboration is the level of in house manufacturing. Key components such as cylinder heads, engine internals, and critical parts are developed and in part produced in Switzerland. This level of control and craftsmanship has become extremely rare in modern engine building.

From initial concept to final calibration, every engine is designed, built, and refined by EGMO. The result is a level of technical integrity, authenticity, and engineering depth that cannot be replicated through outsourced solutions.

This partnership represents a shared commitment to uncompromising engineering, where proven motorsport expertise meets a new generation of air cooled performance.
